Your Information
Privacy notice.
Effective 4 August 2026 · Back to the waitlist
The short version. When you join the waitlist, what you write goes to John A Smith and only John A Smith. It is used for one purpose: to contact you about the Building Personal Agency programme, its introductory price, and how to register. There are no newsletters, no marketing lists, and your information is never sold or shared. If you do not join the programme, your details are deleted no later than six months after your last exchange, or immediately if you ask.
Who is responsible for your information
This website belongs to John Alfred Smith, a counsellor, addiction specialist and coach working in Phuket, Thailand, who is the data controller for anything you send through it. You can reach him about privacy through the waitlist form: write your request in the message box.
What this notice covers
It covers this website and its waitlist form. If you go on to join the programme, the handling of anything you share during sessions is covered separately in the joining information you will receive before the programme begins.
What is collected
The waitlist form asks for your name and email address. The message box, asking what you would most like to change, is optional and you are welcome to leave it blank.
The website itself sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking. Like almost every website, the hosting service and the font service (Google Fonts) receive standard technical information such as your IP address and browser type when the page loads.
Sensitive information
If you choose to write about your health, substance use, or mental health in the message box, that counts as sensitive personal data under Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act. It is processed only with your explicit consent, which is why the form asks you to tick a consent box before sending. Please share only what you are comfortable sharing; joining the waitlist needs no detail at all.
How your information is used
- To send you the introductory price and registration details for the programme.
- To confirm your place if you choose to take one.
- Nothing else. No newsletters, no marketing, no profiling, and your details are never sold, rented, or shared with third parties beyond the services below that deliver the message.
Who handles the message in transit
When you press send, the form is delivered by Web3Forms, a form-delivery service, to John A Smith's email inbox, which is hosted by Google (Gmail). Both act as processors: they carry or store the message so that it can be read, and are bound by their own security and privacy terms. The website is served by its hosting provider, which keeps standard server logs. No other party receives your request.
How long it is kept
If you do not join the programme, your waitlist request is deleted no later than six months after your last exchange, and sooner if you ask. If you do join, it becomes part of your programme record and is kept for as long as that record is needed.
Your rights
You can ask what information is held about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and withdraw your consent at any time. Send your request through the waitlist form message box and it will be handled, normally within two working days.
Changes to this notice
Any change will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
